Section 15
MSMED Act, 2006 · Liability of buyer to make payment
Your buyer must pay by the date agreed in writing. With nothing in writing, they must pay within 15 days of accepting the goods or services. No written term can stretch past 45 days.
Polite, automatic reminders that quote the law, so you never have to chase.
“in no case the period agreed upon between the supplier and the buyer in writing shall exceed forty-five days from the day of acceptance or the day of deemed acceptance.”

MSMED Act, 2006 · Date from which and rate at which interest is payable
Pay late and the buyer owes compound interest, added every month, at three times the RBI Bank Rate. It starts the day after the due date, and no contract can waive it.
Income-tax Act, 1961 · Certain deductions to be only on actual payment
Inserted by the Finance Act 2023 from FY 2023–24: a buyer who pays a micro or small supplier after the Section 15 limit can claim that expense only in the year they actually pay.
Section 16 rate used by Receivo: 3 × the RBI Bank Rate of 5.50% (effective 5 December 2025) = 16.50% a year, compounded monthly. Still unpaid? Section 18 lets you refer the dispute to your state's MSE Facilitation Council via the MSME Samadhaan portal.
